Eye Makeup Tips For Beginner
05 - 07 - 2018

Eye makeup is seen as the most challenging step in makeup. It’s not simple as choosing and applying eyeshadow, we have to pay attention to using the brush for different eye areas. So how to make it becomes easier for the beginner?

Use base and primer for the eye

Makeup for the eye also needs the base and primer step. This helps enhance your eyeshadow hues and keep it last longer. Makeup for the eyes becomes easier.

Use different brushes for different eye areas

Pay attention to using brushes

For different eye areas, you should use different brushes. First, you should choose the basic brushes: flat and round brush, round brush, angled brush… Selecting different brushes helps you apply and blend eyeshadow at small, narrow areas easier. You can control the brush to apply the eyeshadow to the areas that you want.

Simple color mix

If you’re a makeup newbie, you should choose the eyeshadow with simple and easy-to-use colors. The most typical colors from bold to light are the nude, pink, bronze…

Use analogous colors

On different eye areas, we use analogous colors. For example, use dark to light brown for different areas of the eyes as we showed in the above picture. For the beginners, it’s not easy to mix and use complementary colors to create a harmony look, so you should avoid this.

Use the flat, round brush to apply dark brown eyeshadow for the end of the eyes

How to apply eyeshadow to different eye areas

  • First, use a round brush to pick up the shimmer eyeshadow and apply it to the inner corner of the eyelids. Then, also use this brush and the shimmer eyeshadow to apply below the brows to highlight the arch.
  • Next, use an angled brush to apply on the inner corner of the eyes and the waterlines. Because these areas are quite narrow so you use an angled brush to apply eyeshadow easier.

Use a small brush to apply eyeshadow easier at narrow areas

  • Use a big round brush to pick up the brown eyeshadow and apply on the whole eyelids from the inner corners of the eyes.
  • Use a big flat, round brush to pick up the dark brown eyeshadow and apply on the outer corners of the eyes.
  • Finally, use the first brush to pick up the black eyeshadow and apply on the end of the eyes, the flat, round brush helps you to apply the eyeshadow correctly.

Draw thin liners on the upper lashline

Other eye makeup tips

If you like, you can also use an eyeliner brush to draw thin lines on the top lashline to make the eyes look deeper and sharper.

Then don’t forget to use an eyelash curler and apply mascara for the eyes, if you need, you can also use false eyelashes to make the eyes look more attractive.
